When Fred Cress was first told his fortune he was three years old and close to death.
Living in the Indian city of Pune, his family consulted a faith healer.
“The faith healer told my mum: ‘this boy is going to be an artist known throughout the world’,” Fred said.
The prophecy came true. Having won an Archibald, exhibited in New York, London and the First Biennale of Sydney, the Annandale artist has had a illustrious career.
